I know that Broadband and better quality service is important to the people of Putnam Valley, and, yes, it is very important to me. Modernizing communication and record-keeping in Town Hall is a priority. Many people in their homes need state-of-the-art service both for entertainment and their businesses. That is also a priority. Having an experienced negotiator at the helm to ensure that our town receives the best possible service is essential, which is why I want that person to be me.

To me, it is never too early to start thinking of next steps — with Cablevision or any other utility (like NYSEG), we are presented with an opportunity to develop benefits for our community members. A good negotiator is always tracking trends and seeking new proposals.

I won't say exactly what our proposals will be to the various companies or what offers we will entertain from them, but I can tell you this: as a person who has negotiated many contracts, agreements, and settlements as Chief Negotiator and President of the Teacher's Union, I am well-suited to lead these negotiations. As a matter of fact, the best-suited! As always, we will be prepared before going to the table, thoroughly researching all available alternatives as we come to the table.

If you hear of any interesting/new/novel information, please do not hesitate to pass it along to me. Government is a collaborative effort.
