Democrats, Conservatives, Working Families…Commonality!

When people see my many varied endorsements, frankly, they are a bit surprised.

  • Democratic Party,
  • Conservative Party,
  • Working Families Party,
  • Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body AFL-CIO,
  • Hudson Valley Stonewall Democrats
  • PVFT (NYSUT)

I am surprised yet overjoyed that, in our adversarial world, people with diverse backgrounds and opinions can find things within my campaign which bring them together rather than tear them apart. Although they may have some beliefs in opposition with other groups, they see important issues (especially on the local level), where they can unite with their neighbors. Think about it…who among us has not questioned what use our local taxes are put to? Who among us has not wondered why we still don’t have a downtown area capable of sustaining businesses? On a positive note, haven’t we all enjoyed our beautiful locale and desired to keep it pristine? Don’t we all want an honest and respectful town government?

I have been involved in many activities during my professional career where I had to communicate with people of widely diverse opinions and find ways to arrive at an agreement. Believe me, as Union President, Chief Contract Negotiator, BOE Member, etc. I lived through numerous extremely difficult situations where peoples’ lives and well-being would be affected. I spent many a night tossing and turning, trying to find a way to achieve solutions all sides could live with. I deal with people directly!

I can tell you that I never sank — and never will — to the level of one current Town Board member/candidate who has been sued for slander by a town employee…and made our town settle the lawsuit for $17,000! You can believe that, if elected, I will conduct myself in a respectful and professional way, as a Town Board member should! Bring people together — as my endorsements have already started to do — don’t tear them down by spreading negativity. We have great people, so let’s build on that for a better Putnam Valley.
