Mackay Lawsuit

This article ran in the Putnam Examiner on August 20, 2019. It causes me great distress to think that our town council members only responses to the situation described have been 1) No comment or 2) We were not aware of any law suit. The kindest way I can characterize this is…disingenuous.

I myself don’t even work at Town Hall, yet I had heard rumblings about this situation months ago. Furthermore, for a town council member to indicate that they had no knowledge of such goings-on indicates a lack of involvement in the very government which is entrusted to them. Wouldn’t you be intensely involved in any circumstance where you heard that a town employee was being slandered? Is there so little communication and teamwork between the current town council members that there’s been no mention or discussion of a huge slander suit amongst them?

These are some public documents from the Steve MacKay Slander Lawsuit that has been settled with a payment of $17,000 to Mr. Quaglietta.

In light of this, I would like to make it clear that:

  1. There will be a significant increase in communication and teamwork if/when I am elected to represent our community.
  2. Town employees will be supported, not slandered, by Town Council members or I will confront these behaviors head-on.
